Two Affordable and Patriotic Wireless Phone Carriers
I’ve recently had the chance to test and evaluate two affordable and patriotic wireless phone carriers, Patriot Mobile and PureTalk USA.
There are three major wireless carriers who operate nationwide wireless towers: Verizon, AT&T, And T-Mobile. For years, I’ve moved between the three major carriers depending on who offered the best cellular coverage for my area and who offered the best price (if multiple carriers offered similar coverage).
However, all three of the major wireless carriers’ plans recently have been generally-expensive (T-Mobile used to be a “value leader” when John Legere was their CEO, but T-Mobile has unfortunately been making various industry moves that place it similar to the other two big guys). The carriers also include some “perks”, but I have generally found them to be extra “fluff” I really don’t need. I’d rather have one major “perk”: more money back in my pocket each month!
Additionally, as a Christian and as someone who is politically Conservative and patriotic, I’d prefer that I spend my monthly bill with a wireless carrier that is supporting patriotic causes instead of some of the causes the major wireless carriers support.
The two wireless carriers I mention here are known as MVNOs or “Mobile Virtual Network Operators”. It’s a fancy term that means these two carriers rent space on the major provider’s cell towers, but because they don’t operate retail stores or offer a bunch of extra “fluff” with their plans, they can past real cost savings onto you, the consumer.
Patriot Mobile is the carrier I am with currently and the carrier I plan to remain with. They offer affordable plans, and the best part about Patriot Mobile is they offer coverage on all of the three major wireless networks. I’m currently on their Verizon-based plan, but the great benefit is if I moved to traveled to an area where I needed to use AT&T or T-Mobile coverage, I could call Patriot Mobile and have them change my cellular provider to one of the other two guys without having to completely change plans or try to find another carrier altogether. Patriot Mobile can literally be the last wireless provider you will ever need to switch to. You can even have multiple lines with different carriers on your phone with Patriot Mobile ONE if need be. You can bring your own device (or order a new one from them) and port your number over. They also offer cellular Internet for those who need it, as well as good International plans. They also offer services for business users.
One thing I love abut Patriot Mobile in addition to the cost savings each month is Patriot Mobile donates money to various patriotic causes, including pro-life organizations, protecting the first and second amendment, etc. Since I’m an NRA member, I also receive a discount off my monthly bill. Another thing I love about Patriot Mobile is they offer the same “network priority” as the major carriers. I’m getting the same “priority” on Verizon’s towers as my friends paying full-price to Verizon, which is something many other MVNOs do not offer. Patriot Mobile also offers US-based customer service, so I am supporting American workers by using them.
I couldn’t be happier with Patriot Mobile, and I highly recommend them if you want a solid carrier that is both affordable and offers you the option of all the major carriers (including Verizon coverage). You simply cannot go wrong with Patriot Mobile.
Before I switched to Patriot Mobile, I was a customer with PureTalk USA since I was an AMAC member and am a Mammoth Nation member, both of which advertise PureTalk USA. Like Patriot Mobile, PureTalk offers affordable plans. You can bring your own device to PureTalk or order one from them. They also offer various International plans. PureTalk also offers US-based customer service, so when I was a customer with them, I was still supporting American workers.
PureTalk’s plans are slightly cheaper than Patriot Mobile’s, but the limitation is they only use AT&T coverage, unlike Patriot Mobile who offers you a choice from all three major networks. While AT&T coverage was decent around town here in Hot Springs during my tests with PureTalk, I found Verizon offers superior coverage both around town and when traveling (and in buildings), and between the two, only Patriot Mobile offers Verizon coverage. PureTalk’s speeds are going to be similar to the MVNO H2O, as PureTalk and H2O are from the same parent company. PureTalk does offer business plans.
PureTalk does donate to causes that supports veterans and was founded by a veteran. Customers can even round up their monthly bill to support veterans each month. While PureTalk doesn’t give to as broad of a scope of causes as Patriot Mobile, they are still doing excellent work supporting our veterans and the patriotic causes they give to.
Conclusion
I like the fact that there are two affordable and patriotic wireless phone carriers that contribute to patriotic causes, support American workers, and puts money back in our pockets. PureTalk is a good option for those who only need AT&T coverage and who want a super-low price, especially for AMAC or Mammoth Nation members. For those who want the broadest options of wireless carriers (especially Verizon coverage), need multiple lines from multiple wireless providers, need a cellular Internet plan, and who truly want to find the last wireless provider you’ll ever need to switch to (especially if you’re an NRA member), Patriot Mobile is the best choice.
I enjoyed testing both wireless providers and found much to like about both of them. However, of the two, I ended up choosing Patriot Mobile as my personal wireless carrier of choice. They offer an excellent balance of both value and the ability to choose from all of major wireless providers, and since I needed Verizon coverage for my needs, I found Patriot Mobile to be the best choice for me.
